A model and blogger has transformed herself into several iconic Disney Princesses using traditional Indian clothing.

Hamel Patel from North Carolina usually fills her social media accounts with pictures of her outfits and elaborate make-up looks — but for her latest online project, the 20-year-old decided to transform herself into several Disney Princesses, changing things up by swapping the usual fairy tale costumes for traditional Indian clothing instead.

‘Growing up, I always wished there was a Disney Princess I could relate to, one that represented where I came from,’ she wrote on Instagram, revealing her inspiration for the series. ‘So I came up with this idea many months ago and I’m so happy how they turned out!’

SNOW WHITE

‘Introducing outfits/makeup looks inspired by the eight original Disney Princesses we all grew up watching, with a little desi twist!’ she wrote, introducing the series.

Starting with Snow White, Hamel donned a royal blue dress with gold accents and added ornate gold and ruby jewelry to her look.

When it came to her make-up, she opted for a classic red lip and lined her eyes with blue winged liner, adding a blue bindi as a finishing touch.

There’s no mistaking that she’s the princess who lived with seven dwarfs, thanks to a big red bow in her hair and a likely-nonpoisonous apple in her hand.

CINDERELLA 

Next up, the blogger transformed herself into Cinderella, choosing a powder blue sari from Banjara Indian Boutique and jewelry from her mom’s collection to create the look.

On her eyes, she used a matching shade of blue to paint her lids and finished off the demure look with a nude lip.

She also added a blue ribbon in her hair — much like the one Cinderella has after her Fairy Godmother steps in — and finishes off with a sparkling bindi.

AURORA FROM SLEEPING BEAUTY 

For her next transformation, Patel chose Sleeping Beauty, wearing an outfit from Banjara Indian Boutique again.

She piled on gold jewelry, including a headpiece that seems to mimic the gold crown Aurora wears.

She also matched her pink eye shadow, eyeliner, and lipstick to her clothes, which are the same color as Sleeping Beauty’s dress.

Under the sea: Hamel nodded to Ariel from The Little Mermaid by placing a fork or ‘dinglehopper’ in her hair

Two-tone: She matched her eye make-up to her Ariel dress perfectly, even including shimmering glitter that looked like scales

ARIEL FROM THE LITTLE MERMAID  

Having some fun with her next princess, Hamel posted pictures of her version of The Little Mermaid’s Ariel, complete with fork or ‘dinglehopper’ in her hair.

Her eye make-up also matched her two-tone purple and aqua sari, with shimmering purple shadow placed on her lids and an aqua liner framing her bottom lashes — the two colors of Ariel’s shell top and fin.

She also added shimmering glitter to the corners of her eyes, which look like a mermaid’s scales.

Golden girl: Hamel opted for subtle shimmer on her eyes for this look, drawing all the attention to her red lips instead

BELLE FROM BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

Beauty and the Beast’s Belle was next on the agenda, and Hamel posted pictures of herself wearing a bright yellow sari to mimic the ball gown Belle wears in both the cartoon and the film adaptation.

Captioning the shot with the Hindi-language title ‘Bhoomi and the Bewaqoof,’ the blogger kept her eye make-up on the more subtle side, finishing things off with a statement red lip.

Naturally, she also picked a rose for her prop.

Magical: Hamel said Jasmine from Aladdin was her favorite look from the whole series

Traditional: She added bindis to each of her make-up looks to nod to her heritage

PRINCESS JASMINE FROM ALADDIN 

Princess Jasmine from Aladdin’s fictional Middle Eastern kingdom Agrabah also made the cut, with Hamel posting a picture wearing a turquoise sari complete with sheer headscarf.

Like Disney’s Jasmine, she added big gold earrings and a bit of gold jewelry on her head, both from New York based Golden Collections.

Describing it as her ‘favorite look of the whole series,’ the brunette beauty finished off with teal eye make-up and a turquoise bindi.

POCHAHONTAS 

Hamel gave Pochahontas a reboot, too, donning a red and yellow outfit with Native American-inspired seed bead jewelry.

For her make-up, she chose rich shades of brown and tan, and off-set them with a turquoise liner.

While her previous hairstyles were more elaborate, for the photos she wore it straight and down.

Warrior pose: Mulan was the final princess in the series

Dark and moody: A smoky metallic eye was the final make-up look

MULAN  

Finally, Mulan was represented with pretty patterned dress with a forest green scarf detail and statement earrings.

Hamel captioned the shots with, ‘Find your inner warrior.’

She held a sword for the snap, and accented her face with a dark green bindi surrounded in tiny gems.
